Tasmanian Scuba Diving Club Incorporated (TSDC Inc) Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 February 2025
The Tasmanian Scuba Diving Club (TSDC) is a community-based organisation and diver safety is our number one priority. This extends to our website where members’ digital safety is our priority. This Policy informs you of the data we collect and how it is used and shared.
1. Why we collect your personal information
This is a diving Club. We collect your personal information to be able to communicate with you regarding your membership, upcoming events and relevant diving information, as well as to help ensure your safety and to know who to contact in an emergency.
2. What we collect and when
We collect personal information about you when you join our Club. For example, we collect your name, date of birth, phone number, email address, username and password, diving qualifications and experience, an emergency contact’s name and their contact details.
We collect personal information about you when you sign up for one of our dives. For example we ask you to re-nominate your emergency contact name and their contact details.
3. Pay Pal
We encourage you use Pay Pal to make payments. There is also a direct funds transfer option provided. The TSDC does not collect, store or share the information you provide to Pay Pal. Pay Pal’s privacy policy can be found here: https://www.paypal.com/myaccount/privacy/privacyhub?locale.x=en_AU
4. Sharing your information
TSDC is hosted by DreamHost. Their privacy policy explains that they do not use or share the information that clients (ie the TSDC) upload to their platform, and can be read here:
The information you provide when registering for a dive will be shared with the dive organisers and members of the TSDC committee for the purpose of communicating with you regarding the dive, verifying your membership status, and accounting for payments made to the TSDC. It will also be provided to emergency services in the event of an accident or emergency.
5. Removing your personal information
If you do not pay the annual membership fee for three consecutive years we will remove your personal information from our site. This means that should you wish to dive with us again you will need to become a current financial member and complete a new online membership application form. We do not store personal information unnecessarily. Your personal information can also be removed by submitting a request to us using the “contact us” link (or by emailing us at admin@tsdc.org.au). Please note that this will result in the cancellation of your TSDC membership (refunds of membership fees are not provided).
