Oct 4, 2015 - Cathedral Caves

"With a forecast 20-30kn winds, it was decided that the venue for the days diving really should change from Shouten Island.
Somewhere out of Pirates Bay was the replacement kicking off point, and when we three remaining members of the team arrived at the extremly quiet boat ramp, on this post AFL Grand Final Sunday, the conditions we found made a trip to Cathedral Caves seem ideal. It was very windy, but off shore, and there was no swell. The entrance to the caves was calm. James and I jumped in first and had an excellent dive in calm waters and good visibility. I got out after an hour, leaving James playing around on his rebreather, and took over from Andrew on boat duty. Andrew joined James for a while, and then did his own thing whilst I picked up James.
We had lunch in the relative quiet at the head of Waterfall Bay.
James and I then jumped in for a short half hour dive through the caves under the waterfall. Andrew had a go after us but couldn't find the cave entrance. He had a nice dive anyway.
As we motored back to the ramp the conditions calmed down to a gentle zephyr. That didn't matter though because we'd had a terrific day's diving anyway. "
