Jan 22, 2017 - Betsey Wrecks

"6 of us headed out from South Arm Sunday for a couple of dives on the Betsy Island wrecks. The wrecks dived included the SS Musgrave (initially discovered by the TSDC in 2007) and the broken floating bridge section.
It was a glorious day out on the water (at least until the southerly came in mid afternoon). We dropped a shot at each site, which made landing on the wreck very easy. We dived in two groups of three divers, and ran a live boat.
The visibility was reasonable, at about 10m, and the thermocline around 15m was interesting. I haven't dived these wrecks before and I was very surprised at what great dive sites they were. There were stunning coral growths, with Jewel Anenomes, and Sea Whips too. Also lots of fish, and interesting structures to explore.
Some of the boys even amused themselves salvaging three anchors.
It was a top day out and I will certainly be back to dive these sites again. "
